”Moving
Product, Not Paper” -- IA and Kofax join forces to help LTA Group
Image Architects recently teamed up with Kofax to provide a
solution for LTA, the primary transportation company for Barnes and
Noble.
The
Challenge:
The
manual input of data created a bottleneck affecting LTA’s ability to make
information immediately accessible to employees throughout the
company. Scanning was slow and the system could only handle 1,000
pages per day.
The
Solution:
Barcodes were
implemented to automatically index documents, which has enabled the
company to process more documents and increase the accuracy of its
processing. IA expanded their use of Kofax Ascent Capture and paired it
with paired IBMs Content Manager to digitize and store paper documents in
a central database, which enables LTA to manage and secure
business-critical shipping documents electronically and access them via
the corporate network.
The
Outcome:
With a modest
investment, LTA tripled their scanning capacity. With the new document
imaging system integrated by Image Architects, LTA Group can now process
between 3,000 to 6,000 pages a day versus the previous 1,000. The Kofax
document imaging technology that is central to the system enables LTA to
process more than 100,000 customer cartons per day. Read the complete story in PDF format here.

Architects wins New York City Health and Hospitals COLD system with IBM
Image
Architects has recently been awarded a $1.1 million GSA contract with the
New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. Working with IBM, Image
Architects will install and develop a Content Manager OnDemand system
that will replace costly and slow microfiche archiving of employee
records. Eventually, all the HHC employees will access mainframe reports
via the IBM Enterprise Information Portal using thin client
browsers. Content Manager OnDemand will be installed on an IBM
RS/6000 server and provide online report distribution of MVS reports.
CGU Insurance uses OnDemand to underwrite insurance
policies
Image
Architects has completed installation of an IBM Content Manager OnDemand
system at CGU Life Insurance. The system archives insurance applications
after they have been scanned into the system. IA used the Captiva Forms
Recognition product, FormWare, to scan and read handwriting on the forms
and convert it to computer-friendly text. Once the data has been
digitized, the system uploads the data to their underwriting system for
real-time analysis and desision-making. If a policy is approved the
system returns the policy number where it is stored in OnDemand.
Un-approved policies are flagged and handled individually by
underwriters. Future plans for the system include storing the
actual policies online as well as expanding the variety of the insurance
forms that are processed by the CGU system.

Manager). ImageBank archives can be accessed via the web at http://www.theimagebank.com
